THE CHANGING FACE OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES

This photograph above (taken Friday 26th Jan 2007) of The Feathers Hotel
(which stands on the corner of Paul Street and Vauxhall Road)
shows it being prepared for demolition. The photo below pictures the
building in 1912 when the Hotel may have been known as The Liver?
It is well documented that the decline and demolition of such pub buildings
along with neighbouring homes, factory and shop property together with church
and school closures, followed by a mix of regeneration programmes has radically
changed the face of the Scotland Road and Vauxhall community.
The Scottie Press has embarked on a major work to record these changes
in the form of a photographic exhibition. We welcome hearing from readers
who may wish to have their photographs featured in this exhibition in 2007
as part of events marking the 800th Birthday (1207-2007) of the City of Liverpool.
We welcome hearing from world wide web readers who may have photos of interest
for this exhibition.
